Government Announced International sports festival to be held in Gwadar- Sports Festival Announced In Gwadar to Decorate CPEC

The China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), a flagship of China’s Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) that was officially launched in April 2015, promised transformational gains. 400 athletes from 45 countries will come to Pakistan for the event, sports ministers from 30 countries are also being invited.

China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) is planned to be decorated with sports activities. A sports festival will be organized in Gwadar. 400 athletes from 45 countries will come to Pakistan for the event. Sports ministers from 30 countries are also being invited to the event.

The International Traditional Sports and Games Festival will run for 7 days and will be part of cultural sports activities such as javelin throwing, camel racing, belt wrestling and archery. It may be recalled that the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) is currently the largest economic and development project in the world with an initial value of 46 billion which will further increase to over 62 billion.

The project includes the construction of long wide and safe roads, energy projects, industrial parks and the port of Gwadar, the completion of which augurs well for an economically bright future for war-torn Pakistan. The CPEC Authority is currently headed by Lieutenant general (retired) Asim Saleem Bajwa, who has also been the head of the ISPR, the media wing of the Pakistan Army.
