Sales of department stores are expected to decline by 60% in year 2020 while e-commerce sales are expected to increase by 20%. According to the report, the epidemic has affected people's shopping preferences. The trend of online shopping for clothing and apparel has declined this year.
In contrast, sales of groceries, beverages and home improvement equipment and appliances increased by 12%, 16%, and 14%, respectively.
According to the report, US statistical data, the volume of e-commerce in the second quarter of the year was recorded at 211-5 billion, which is 31-8% higher than the first quarter. The volume of e-commerce recorded 16-1% of total retail sales in the second quarter.
